Joshua Levi Galleries is located in Brisbane's newest creative hub, in the heart of Woolloongabba. Focusing on emerging and contemporary artists, the gallery shows both locally produced and international exhibitions. By opening a second space this year, Joshua Levi Galleries can now showcase an wider range of artists from all disciplines.
The gallery burst onto the scene in June 2008, housing well over double capacity for the opening night. Since then, its success was shown in 3 sold out exhibitions within the first six months, proving that gallery owner Joshua Collings, has an eye for talent. Using a combination of outlandish marketing stunts, use of space and careful selection of the artists, the gallery has become a proven success story.
Stylised from the New York and Melbourne grunge galleries, the three room space shows off falling apart walls and unpolished floors, letting the artworks command attention. In keeping with doing things differently, the gallery showcases many emerging musicians at all events, graffiti walls and live installations to get the mind ticking.
Working with the wider community and supporting emerging artists is the key to Joshua Levi Galleries, making a difference in the rapidly growing city. Make time to see us soon and see what all the fuss is about.
